ABOUT GLOCK
The history of Glock dates back to the early 1980s when the company was founded by Gaston Glock, an Austrian engineer and businessman. Here’s a timeline of significant events in the history of Glock:
- Early 1980s: Gaston Glock, with a background in polymer and metal processing, established his company, Glock Ges.m.b.H., in 1982. Initially, the company focused on manufacturing components for the Austrian military, including knives and machine components.
- Development of the Glock 17: In response to the Austrian military’s search for a new sidearm to replace their ageing Walther P38 pistols, Glock entered the firearms market. Gaston Glock, with no prior experience in designing firearms, collaborated with experts to create the Glock 17, named after its magazine capacity of 17 rounds. The Glock 17 was introduced in 1982 and became the first successful pistol from Glock.
- Innovations in Design: The Glock 17 was notable for its innovative design, incorporating a polymer frame, striker-fired mechanism, and a high-capacity magazine. The extensive use of polymer made the pistol lightweight and resistant to corrosion. The striker-fired system contributed to a consistent trigger pull, and the high-capacity magazine set Glock pistols apart from many competitors.
- Global Adoption: The Glock 17 gained widespread acceptance, not only in Austria but also internationally. It quickly became popular among law enforcement agencies, military forces, and civilian users around the world. The reliability and durability of Glock pistols contributed to their global adoption.
- Expansion of Product Line: Over the years, Glock expanded its product line to include various models and calibres to cater to different user preferences and needs. The Glock 19, a compact version of the Glock 17, and the Glock 26, a subcompact version, were among the models introduced to address different market segments.
- Influence in the United States: Glock pistols gained significant traction in the United States, particularly in the law enforcement community. The adoption of Glock pistols by numerous police departments contributed to their popularity among civilian gun owners as well.
- Continued Innovations: Glock continued to innovate and introduce new features in its pistol designs. The company has introduced different generations of pistols, each incorporating improvements based on user feedback and advancements in technology.
- Cultural Impact: Glock has become a symbol in popular culture and is often featured in movies, television shows, and video games. The distinctive appearance of Glock pistols and their reputation for reliability have contributed to their recognition beyond the firearms community.
Today, Glock remains a prominent and influential brand in the firearms industry, with a strong global presence.

AIRSOFT GUN AND AIRGUN RESTRICTIONS
It is your responsibility to know the laws in your state, county, and city and to comply with them fully. Below are examples of some state and local restrictions. This list shows products that are prohibited in the locations indicated.
All airsoft guns must have at least a 6 millimeter bright orange muzzle or an orange flash hider. U.S. federal law requires that all airsoft guns are sold with this marking to avoid the guns being mistaken for firearms. If you remove the orange muzzle or flash hider from your airsoft gun, you will void the warranty for that item.
Airguns (guns that shoot pellets or steel BBs) do not have an orange muzzle, nor are they required to have one by the U.S. federal government.
